Many more designs and colours to come, but for now let me introduce:
I've really been digging nautical themes lately - I love the fresh colours and cute details you can add to events - baby showers in particular! I've put together some really creative ideas for those planning a nautical themed baby shower. All sources are listed below :)
* This post originally appeared on my old blog, Living YOUR Creative, but has been transferred to my new blog.
What you'll need:
- Four 6x6 canvases
- Cricut machine
- Create a Critter cartridge (or if using the Explore, the monkey, hippo, elephant and lamb files)
- Plantain Schoolbook cartridge
- Scrapbook paper/cardstock
- Spray adhesive
- Grey paint
- Sponge brush
How to make them:
First, paint your canvases (two coats, letting each coat dry in between).
In the meantime, cut your background squares with the Cricut, using the square file on the Plantain Schoolbook cartridge. (Outer square 5.5", inner square 5")
Using the Create a Critter cartridge, cut the following animals in the following sizes:
- Lamb - 4"
- Monkey - 4.5"
- Hippo - 3.5"
Elephant - 3"
Using the same cartridge, cut some background images (clouds, plants, vines, etc...) I used a mix of these from the cartridge, not necessarily the ones that corresponded with the animals I chose)
Adhere everything together with spray adhesive and let dry! And voila! Your very own adorable nursery art! There are so many options for this - I have a few more ideas in store for future babies ;) Have a great week/weekend!

One color that seems to be particularly popular these days is grey - paired with blush, yellow, blue, lavender, peach - and one of my new personal favorites, MINT! Welcome to my little corner of the Internet! Here's where I'll be sharing new shop items as they become available, as well as other DIY projects!
I saw this idea for a 'kissing menu' for the reception online and I loved it. What a fun alternative to the typical 'clink your glass to get the bride and groom to kiss' tradition! I couldn't find a menu online that I loved, so I decided to create my own. And I thought, why keep this to myself? Free things as a bride-to-be are always a score!
Simply download the kissing menu file, print, and cut along the lines. Each kissing menu measures 4x6" and can be put in a frame on a table or added to card stock for an extra pop of color! I hope you enjoy this little freebie!
